At Chesapeake Chaos, we believe in focusing on long-term development and strong fundamentals. Here’s what guides our philosophy:
⚾ Development Over Winning
Development first – Especially at the younger ages, building skills matters more than playing or winning games.
Practice ratio – For every competitive event that is played, there should be at least three practice events. Practice develops, games reinforce.
🏃 Competition & Hustle
Healthy competition – Brings out the best in each player.
Hustle Ball – We hustle on and off the field. Not a full sprint, but a hasty jog with intent.
🧠 Baseball IQ & Philosophy
6 Pillars of Baseball – The foundation of everything we teach (see below).
Baseball Brain – Understanding the game is just as critical as playing it.
🛠 Fundamentals & Field Awareness
B.B.B. – Ball, Base, Backup – On every play always go for the ball first, else cover your base, else become the back up.
Defense + Baserunning – These two elements can make or break a player’s success.
📈 Practice with Intent
Consistency matters – Accurate performance in practice leads to success in games.
Development – By the end of the day, you should be a better baseball player than you were when the day began
